Ho Ho Ho!  We're using some traditional holiday colours this week at Color My Heart's Color Dare.  Featuring Ponderosa Pine and Cranberry, our Design Team has come up with some great designs ... designs and colours I hope will inspire you to play along!
*** MY PROJECT: Yuletide Greetings

I have had this stamp set for a while and really wanted to use it, but just hadn't found the right reason.  This is the perfect time.  The two-colour combination really allows the stamp to play hero on this card, showing off the intricacy of the design.  I didn't want to colour it too much, in fear it would take away.  But I did add some silver glitz glitter gel to add some sparkle.

Now it's your turn.
It's time for you to channel your festive feelings with this traditional colour combination: Ponderosa Pine and Cranberry.  Share your creation on the  Color My Heart Color Dare blog and enter for your chance to win!

HO HO HO!  Welcome to The Brae-er's November Team Blog Hop. This month, we're focusing on "Holidays", especially since the festive season is just around the corner!

As you hop along to all the different blogs, you will see creations from our CTMH team showcasing stamp sets, patterned paper, inks, embellishments and more from the Close To My Heart Autumn Idea book and new mini Holiday Guide. Thanks in advance for taking the time to hop along.  Now, onto the creative stuff!

This is a circular hop.   If you came from Brae's "The Brae-er" blog, you're going in the right direction.  Just keep hopping along and see some amazing artwork.  Soon, you'll make it all the way around to each Brae-er's Team members blog.

My Project:  Slider Cards

When I was looking for different formats to use in my gift card holder workshop, I came across the Paper Garden Projects blog, featuring the instructions for a slider card.  It was so cute, and the instructions were so well written, I had to try it out.

Here is the card we made at my workshop.  It is very closely inspired by the original card in the instructions.  I added a pocket inside the slider to hold the gift card.

This card features the following products:
  • Stamp Sets:  Polar Bear Holiday, Christmas Village
  • Ink:  Slate, Twilight
  • Frosted B&T Paper
  • CTMH Cardstock:  Slate, Champagne and White Daisy
  • Twilight marker
  • Stardust glitter gel

With the second card, I got a bit more adventurous.

This card features the following products:
  • Stamp Sets:  Santa Claus, Christmas Village
  • Ink:  Slate, Black, Ruby, White Daisy
  • CTMH Cardstock:  Kraft, Black, Ruby and White Daisy
  • Grey copic markers
  • Stardust and red glitter gel

Keep on Hopping!
Your next stop on the hop is "Crafty Corina's" blog.

This week at Color My Heart's Color Dare, the colours are very fall-inspired, chosen from the “Enchantment” colour family:  Smokey Plum, Goldrush, and Olive.  Once again, there is some stunning artwork from the Design Team so please go and check them out.

Then come along and play with us!  Go ahead – take the Color Dare this week.

*** MY PROJECT: Falling Leaves Vertical Card

Yesterday, I was working on the Huntington WOTG with one of my Ladies’ clubs and we had so much fun.  As they were stamping their leaves on the layout, using the Rock ‘n’ Roll technique, it inspired me to do the same thing for this card.  Sometimes, you just need a little pick-me-up, and these falling leaves would do the job nicely to make someone smile.  A little Liquid Glass adds some dimension and shine without taking away from the stamping.

Now it's your turn.  Embrace the fall weather and feel the warmth of the Smokey Plum, Goldrush and Olive colour combination.  Create something Fall-tastic, then go and enter for your chance to win at the Color My Heart Color Dare blog.

MY PROJECT:

This month, I played with the Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape.  Well, can I tell you how much I LOVE Washi Tape?  It's easy to use -- self adhesive but if you make a mistake, you can pull it up and start again.  So versatile!  And so stinkin' CUTE!  I love the 3 patterns in the Sparkle & Shine set -- and they don't have to be limited to the Holiday season too.

So I made some cards.  Then I made a frame that I'm going to put a magnet on and put on my fridge (see my handsome hubby??).  Then I made bookmarks using paperclips.  Then I decorated tea lights.  And if I had more time, I could go on and on!

Haven't tried Washi Tape?  Now is the time!  They would make GREAT stocking stuffers too.

KEEP HOPPING & LEAVE COMMENTS, PLEASE!

Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is the bling-tastic Brae’s “The Brae-er” blog.

Please take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our viewers....whether it was something that you really liked or some new technique that was used that you would like to learn how to do....by leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like, and what you want to see.

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to get creative using some of the designs, paper and techniques seen along the way. Join us again on December 15 when we will be featuring items that would make fantastic gifts.

This week at Color My Heart's Color Dare, we're using one of my favourite techniques: Black and White with a pop of colour.  In this case, we’re using green, which is perfect for this time of year.  The Design Team has done an awesome job so make sure you check out each one.  Then play along with us and create something yourself.  Go ahead – take the Color Dare this week.

My Project: Button Tree

The “For Always” paper pack is a good staple to have in your stash.  It’s got a variety of patterns and is a good go-to when trying to create something with impact quickly.

And my button tree is pretty darned cute, if I do say so myself.  I just layered different sized Sweet Leaf-coloured buttons and added a square sparkle at the top.  The ribbon adds shine and a simple sentiment tops it off.

Now it's your turn.  Pick your favourite green and pair it with some classy black and white designs – either stamped or using paper.  Create something fabulous, then go and enter for your chance to win at the Color My Heart Color Dare blog.
