Welcome to this month’s Cross Canada Blog Hop.  As consultants, one of the best tools at our fingertips is our line-up of How-To books, and we want to share them with you!  Complete with blueprints, cutting guides and creative inspiration, these books help you get started with your cards and layouts.  They are such a great value too – lots of reusable ideas and instructions, at a price that’s comparable to ... and often less than!! ... a scrapbooking magazine.

Want to learn more about our how-to books?  Check out my recent post, complete with an awesome video!

·         If you came from the super talented Krista's "Simply Creating" blog, then you are going in the right direction.
·         This is a circular hop so you can start here and go all the way around.
·         Or, you can start at Michelle’s "My Creations" blog to hop across the country from East to West.  Michelle also has the full line-up if you get lost along the way.

HERE'S MY PROJECT: Taste of Summer Layouts
This month, CTMH is offering a delicious paper pack to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month and I couldn’t wait to use it.  It’s just perfect for pictures of summertime in our backyard pool!

This layout is a 2-pager, following the blueprint called “Overture” in our “Imagine” how-to book (page 116).  Imagine has over 50 2-page layouts to choose from, with lots of gorgeous artwork for inspiration too.

I stayed pretty true to the blueprint, except I changed up the photos on the right-hand page.  I loved this large photo of my two nieces and wanted to showcase it on this layout.

I love that the blueprints are so versatile that they can be used over and over … and they can be used for different things.  Rotate them and exchange pages for a different look on a 2-page layout.  Or, use a card sketch for a layout, like I’ve done below.

I took the card blueprint on page 44 of Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 and just expanded the measurements to turn it into a layout.  Then I tilted the photo mat and photo slightly – this adorable pic of my son Charlie just couldn’t be contained by a straight-on placement LOL!

Do you love, love, love this scrumptious paper?  It's only available in MAY -- Taste of Summer is bright and vibrant and fruity ... and only $8.95 for 12 sheets (2 each of 6 designs).  Learn more on my Deals page, and shop online to get yours.

Your next stop on this How-To Blog Hop is the crafty Lucy's "Creative Expressions" blog.

Please take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our crafty readers ....whether it was something that you really liked or some new technique that was used that you would like to learn how to leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like, and what you want to see.

Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you to get creative using some of the designs, paper and techniques seen along the way.  And come back next month when we’ll be sharing our mini album creations.
